1946-1949 Belmont and Raytheon-Belmont - USA Advertising claim of 1948: "For over twenty-years Belmont has designed, engineered and produced home radio receivers of outstanding merit and acceptance". That would place them in the radio market in the late 1920s -- the earliest records I have of Belmont radios is 1932. Maybe the radio collectors can explain the discrepancy. As far as television goes, the Belmont Radio Corporation was a subsidiary of Raytheon Manufacturing. Television operations began in 1947 and continued until 1957. The main plant was at 5921 West Dickens Avenue, in Chicago, Illinois. They had three other manufacturing plants, all in Iowa -- Mason City, Charles City and Oelwein Iowa. 1948 Dealer Advertising -
